Living with Intention
A four-week program for midlife women who are ready to pause, reflect and move forward with greater clarity and purpose.
Facilitated by Joanna Wood Counselling at Fort Green Richmond.
Each Wednesday evening in May, we will begin with a Slow Flow Yoga class, followed by a group session facilitated by Joanna Wood. These sessions are a time for like minded women to come together for honest reflection, practical tools and the kind of conversation that actually moves you forward in your mid life.
You will be surrounded by a community of supportive women and the opportunity to embrace a life full of intention to build deeper connections, daily rituals and self-compassion.
What to Expect
-
We start the session with a guided 60 minute Slow Flow into Yin Yoga class to find connection to our bodies and breath. We then gather as a community in the studio to explore what Living with Intention means.
-
The Yoga session is guided by one of our Fort Green senior Yoga teachers Iliana Contos. After Yoga, our group of women will gather after the Yoga session to explore different topics each week.
Week 1 — Who Am I Now? Reconnect with your values, name what you actually want and define the one shift that could change everything.Week 2 — The Daily Anchor Build a tiny, sustainable daily practice rooted in your values — one you'll actually keep.
Week 3 — Resilience, Joy and Community Navigate setbacks with self-compassion, silence your inner critic, and deepen your connections.
Week 4 — Living Forward Consolidate what's shifted, write your Living Forward Plan, and step into the next chapter with intention.

ABOUT JOANNA WOOD
Joanna Wood is a passionate member of the Fort Green community. You've probably seen her around the Richmond studio.
What you might not know is that she's also a counsellor, facilitator and course creator specialising in supporting women in midlife to live, love and choose with intention.
She brings a rare combination of professional rigour and lived experience to her work. Before training as a counsellor, Joanna spent over 20 years in senior government leadership, including diplomatic postings across Asia. Midlife found her too — separation, single parenting, re-partnering, and her own process of working out who she wanted to be in the next chapter.
That personal journey, combined with her training as a yoga teacher and breathwork practitioner, is why the body is always part of the conversation, not just the mind.
Her approach draws on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution Focused Therapy, and Person-Centred Counselling — practical, evidence-based tools that help women move from vague longing to clear intention. She doesn't believe in fixing. She believes in walking alongside.
Joanna holds a Diploma of Counselling from the Australian Institute of Professional Counselling and is a registered member of the Australian Counselling Association.
